Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was released today from the Yerwada jail in Pune after completing his jail term. Dutt, 56, was sentenced for firearms offences linked to the 1993 Mumbai blasts, which killed 257 people and injured 713. He was convicted of buying firearms from the bombers but said the weapons were necessary in order to defend his family during Hindu-Muslim rioting.
Before the actor was released, as part of the norm he received advice from the jailor. Whenever a prisoner is released, it’s a norm for the jailor to give him/her a final advice.
A report in online portal SpotBoye revealed Dutt’s parting advice from jailer Yogi Pawar, as he walked out of Pune’s Yerwada prison early today.
Sources say Pawar told the Munnabhai actor, “Your conduct in the jail was so good, we hope you conduct yourself exactly like this in the outside world as well.”
As per sources, the actor was so overwhelmed, he couldn’t say anything. He simply shook hands with Pawar and bid him goodbye.
