Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur tied the knot in 2003. 13 years later, they filed for divorce. The couple had two children- Kiaan and Samaira. The businessman passed away recently after a polo match in London after he accidentally swallowed a bee. He was 53. Due to his U.S citizenship, his funeral formalities in India were delayed. The funeral happened in New Delhi on June 19 in the presence of his family. Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Saif Ali Khan were present too. The Kapoor and Khan family have flown back to the capital for the businessman’s prayer meet scheduled for today.
Karisma Kapoor was spotted with his children at Mumbai’s private airport as she was flying to Delhi for the prayer meet.
The actress could be seen lending her support to her son Kiaan as he has lost his father. reportedly, the children have inherited bonds worth Rs 14 crore and the actress has been bequeathed an apartment in Khar.
The couple was also clicked at the airport as they were too traveling to the capital to attend the prayer meet of Sunjay Kapur.
The actress, before tying the knot with Sunjay Kapur, was engaged to Abhishek Bachchan but it ended a year later.
In an interview, Karisma said, “It is time I spoke. I owe it to everyone. The beginning of this year was traumatic for me. I wouldn’t wish any girl to go through it. I was forced to deal with my hurt and pain on my own. I guess time is the best healer.”
She added, “Though I have been through a lot, I have come to terms with whatever has happened. All I will say is, whatever is destined is bound to happen. I was emotionally unprepared to confront my problems.”
