The plot regarding Kapil Sharma’s hugely tangled professional and personal life has now thickened even further, with a very close friend of Kapil coming forward alleging Kapil’s creative collaborator and alleged former girlfriend Preeti Simoes to have unreasonable influence over the comic superstar’s life and career.
Says Kapil’s buddy, “ Preeti claims she was Kapil’s girlfriend until Ginny Chitarth barged into Kapil’s life. But the truth, as everyone close to Kapil including Preeti knows, is that Ginny was always the girl in Kapil’s life from the time he was a nobody in Amritsar. Then when he came to Mumbai and become a ‘somebody’ he began to attract the ambitious go-getting kind of female company. Being from a small town, Kapil was immediately impressed by Preeti Simoes. She could speak English fluently and she knew how to do her social networking. She was essentially the show’s PR person. She knew how to speak with the stars who came as guests on the show and she took full charge of Kapil’s life, career and wardrobe, everything.” But in the process of ‘looking after’ Kapil, Ms Simoes allegedly alienated and isolated Kapil from everyone. Says Kapil’s buddy, “Like all women in love, Preeti wanted Kapil only for herself. Kapil’s best friend Rajiv Dhingra is being blamed for breaking up Kapil and Preeti Simoes. But Rajiv never interfered in Kapil’s personal life. He regrets that now. If he had advised Kapil perhaps Kapil would not have been in the emotional mess that he is today. Kapil himself admits he can’t do with Preeti or without Preeti.”
Shedding light on the infamous fight between Kapil and Sunil Grover, Kapil’s buddy says. “Nobody knows this, but just before the fight in and on the flight from Australia, Kapil and Sunil were on a boys’ holiday together in Mauritius. Right after this holiday their fight happened in Australia. And Preeti Simoes knows who is responsible. She wanted to isolate Kapil from everyone around him, including his best friend Rajiv Dhingra. But Kapil wouldn’t hear a word against Rajiv. They go back a long way, to a time before Kapil found stardom with Comedy Nights With Kapil. In fact Comedy Nights With Kapil was planned by Rajiv and Kapil together. It was initially titled Sharmaji Ki Naatak Mandali. But the Channel wanted a more urban upmarket title. Hence, Comedy Nights With Kapil.” Preeti Simoes walked into Kapil’s life at this point. “She took charge. But she also wanted to get rid of everyone who was close to Kapil. That included Ginny Chitarth who is totally and unconditionally devoted to Kapil. Ginny is not in Kapil’s life to seek professional benefits. She has loved him from before he was ‘THE KAPIL SHARMA’. She loves him unconditionally. And they will marry. If only the elements that have caused havoc in Kapil’s life would stay out of his life.”
At the moment Kapil is in a very confused state of mind. When I spoke to Kapil I repeatedly asked him why he doesn’t marry his simple innocent devoted girlfriend. “Mujhe khud nahin maloom main kyon shaadi nahin kar raha Ginny se. Pehle mujhe apne andar ki pereshaniyan se toh nipatne dijiye (I myself don’t know why I am not marrying Ginny. First let me deal with my turmoil within).”
