Fatima Sana Shaikh opened up about her relationship status, putting an end to rumours of dating her co-star and actor Vijay Varma at the trailer launch of Aap Jaisa Koi, where she stated that there are ‘no good guys’, thus accepting that she is single. But she further also revealed that she is open to love.
In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Fatima stated that she ‘enjoys being in love’ and reiterates how difficult it is to be single forever.

“I am a hardcore romantic. I love love. I know that I do a lot of drama initially and say that I don’t want to be in a relationship. But once I’m in it. I just want to be in it. I enjoy a good partnership, and it’s very important. We keep saying that we want to be alone, but we’re social beings, and that’s why it’s impossible to be alone forever. We need human interaction and conversations to grow. Aap akele baithoge na, toh aap ko jaldi Alzheimer’s ho jaayega. If you don’t have anyone to challenge your thoughts, how will you evolve?”

She further continues, “You may not have an ‘intimate’ relationship with someone, but there’s intimacy in every kind of relationship. In friendships, you may be close to someone because you like their intelligence and opinions. With someone, you may have a deeper friendship because they give you empathy and love. Some friends hype you. You’ve different friends for different reasons. But in a partner, you require a little more than that, a little more consistency and availability.”

Fatima also spoke about the modern-day relationships. “I’ve only had long-term relationships. It’s said that people have a lot more options on their plate today. But that was there earlier also. We’ve heard stories of people engaging in multiple relationships, and these things used to happen even before the influx of the internet. It depends on your intent too. If you’ve the intent [to cheat], you will,” Fatima states.
She also admitted that the profession she’s in lets her meet a lot of good-looking people, but that’s not enough for her.
