Actor Prateik Babbar recently tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Priya Banerjee, in an intimate ceremony at his late mother Smita Patil’s residence on February 14. However, what stood out was that Prateik did not invite his father, veteran actor Raj Babbar, or his half-siblings, Aarya Babbar and Juhi Babbar, to the wedding. This decision has left his family deeply hurt, with Aarya now expressing his disappointment over the situation.
In a candid statement, Aarya shared that he believes their family must have failed Prateik in some way if he chose not to include them in one of the most significant moments of his life. “Not inviting other members of our family, my mother (Nadira Babbar), my sister (Juhi Babbar), or me could be condonable. Maybe we have failed him as a family, although we have never treated him as a stepbrother. But not inviting our father, his father, Raj Babbar… how can he do this?” Aarya questioned.

He further revealed that Raj Babbar is deeply affected by Prateik’s decision to exclude him from the wedding. “Papa is very, very hurt. By doing this, Prateik has also hurt his mother, the great Smita Patilji. If he stops to think for a moment, he would realize that his mother, whom he respects and loves so much, must be very hurt. Would she want this?” Aarya added.
Despite the emotional turmoil, Aarya emphasized that their doors remain open for Prateik. He reiterated that they have always considered him an integral part of the Babbar family and wished him happiness in his marriage. “We hope he is happy in his marriage and finds his niche as an actor. He has the genes of two great actors. I always believed he had the talent to be another Ranbir Kapoor. But somewhere, he has gone astray. We fear someone is giving him wrong advice,” he stated.
