Bollywood mourns the victims of Kerala plane crash

The plane crash left at least 18 dead and hundreds injured

An Air Indian Express plane which was carrying 184 passengers, crashed as it landed in Kozhikode airport in Kerala on Friday.

The crash killed 18 passengers and left hundreds wounded. The Boeing 727 plane was flying in from Dubai and crashed due to heavy rain conditions in which the pilot could not see the runway. The attempted landing in those conditions caused the plane to skid and crash into a ditch, bringing the plane to a complete halt.

An official has mentioned that it’s a ‘miracle’ that more didn’t die from the crash. The plane missed the designated landing area by 1000 metres, leaving a low chance of a safe landing.

Messages from Bollywood celebrities quickly came as many shared thoughts and prayers, and solidarity for the crash victims.

Kareena Kapoor Khan shared her condolences on her Instagram story, followed by some information on the crash. She added two praying emojis to her post.

Abhishek Bachchan wrote, “Prayers for all involved in the Air India crash”.

Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “My heart goes out to the passengers and crew members onboard the #AirIndia flight. Deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones. Thoughts and prayers…”

Ajay Devgan said, “Disturbed by the #AirIndia flight tragedy. My prayers are with all the passengers and crew members onboard and deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones.”

Shraddha Kapoor wrote, “Very heartbreaking to hear about the #KozhikodeAirCrash. Prayers and healing to the injured passengers. Deepest condolences and strength to those who have lost their loved ones.”
