In a rather bizarre turn of events, a police complaint and a criminal case have been lodged against Raveena Tandon. And the reason is more amusing than shocking – Raveena has been accused of blocking traffic at Muzaffarpur in Bihar! The police confirmed that they have not only admitted a complaint against her but have started a criminal case through an FIR or First Information Report.
The FIR has been lodged last month, reports news agency Press Trust of India. PTI further states that one Kaji Mohammadpur Police Station in Muzaffarpur filed the FIR after being directed by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Dipak Kumar. The complaint in the case was filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, who had accused Tandon of causing disruption of road traffic during her visit to the Bihar town on October 12.
Ojha had sought that Tandon, along with Pranav Kumar and Umesh Singh, the father-son duo who own a hotel which was inaugurated by the actor on October 12, be made parties. In his complaint, Ojha alleged that because of Tandon’s function, he was stuck in a traffic jam for a long time. He had requested the court to take note of his complaint under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code and direct the police to lodge an FIR against the three.
Maybe Raveena will be well-advised to check out the traffic conditions of the city she next visits!
This is not the first time that a celebrity has been dragged to the police for frivolous reasons. Amitabh Bachchan, a few days ago, was at the receiving end of a legal notice filed against him for wearing a lawyer’s robes in an advertisement.
