Lux Style Awards 2019: Atif Aslam, Saba Qamar, Meera Pay Tribute to Veteran Actress Shabnam
Shabnam made a surprise appearance at the 18th Lux Style Awards 2019 ceremony. The veteran Lollywood actress was paid tribute to throughout the night by performances from many Lollywood stars, including Atif Aslam, Saba Qamar, Meera and more!
The 18th Lux Style Awards 2019 was synonymous with glitz, glamour and a night full of beautiful live performances by our industry’s glitterati. This year it was no less. The mega event was marred with celebrities moving and grooving to their favourite tunes. Our favourite starlets including Saba Qamar, Meera, Maya Ali, Mehwish Hayat and many others totally enthralled attendees to no end with their jhatkas and matkas. However, the highlights of this year’s Lux Style Awards show were the dance performances that were dedicated to the one and only veteran Lollywood actress, Shabnam. Shabnam, known for her prolific work in Pakistani cinema, came all the way from Bangladesh to attend the Lux Style Awards ceremony amidst much fanfare.
Here are the celebrities that gave dazzling tributes to Shabnam through their performances of some of her biggest hits:
1. Atif Aslam
Atif Aslam arrived on stage and charmed the audience with his soulful voice as he sang famous Lollywood song “Hamain dil Sai Na Bhulana” from the movie Aaina, which originally featured Shabnam ji and actor Nadeem Baig. The song has a large cult following of its own. Dressed in a beautifully embellished black sherwani, Atif dedicated the song to the legend who was standing beside him and enjoying his performance.
2. Meera and Asad Siddiqui
Famous actress Meera and television actor Asad Siddiqui performed a duet on the track“Bichrain gay na hum kabhi”, dedicated to Shabnam Ji. The song was originally picturized on Shabnam Ji in the movie Wadaa Karo Sajana. The duo’s expert performance stole the show and garnered plenty of claps and whistles from the audience.
3. Saba Qamar
Saba Qamar enchanted the audience with her strong presence and performed on the remix version of the super hit song “Mera Babu Chail Chabila” sung by singer Runa Laila. Wearing a gorgeous golden lehenga, the actor offered a tribute to Shabnam. Saba’s performance was choreographed by none other than Nigah Jee.
4. Maya Ali
Maya Ali also gave a special performance to pay tribute to the legendary Shabnam Ji. The Parey Hut Love actress grooved to a remix of the hit song “Chitti Zara Saiyaan ji Ke Nam Likhde” which is an original song that featured Shabnam.
The performances given by these beloved actors had the audience constantly grooving to the evergreen songs of yesteryear. It was evident that a lot of hard work went behind each performance, as behind the scenes shots of the ceremony’s dance rehearsals made the rounds on social media. All in all, Shabnam definitely received the due appreciation she deserved throughout the night!
