Arjun Kapoor — who is currently occupied with the promotions of his war drama Panipat — has signed up for a new project, co-starring Rakul Preet Singh. This is the first time the lead pair will be sharing screen space. The currently untitled film will be produced by John Abraham, Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani, Krishan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar. It will mark the fourth collaboration between John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani after Batla House, Satyameva Jayate and its upcoming sequel. The new film, a love story, will be directed by Kaashvie Nair, who has previously assisted Nikkhil on Patiala House and D-Day and also co-directed drama series POW-Bandi Yuddh Ke with him.
The Arjun Kapoor-Rakul Preet starrer has been written by Kaashvie, Anuja Chauhan and Amitosh Nagpal. Described by the director as a ‘coming-of-age, cross-border romance’, the film is scheduled to go on the floors this month and will be shot in Punjab and Los Angeles.
Arjun Kapoor, sharing his thoughts about the upcoming movie, said in a statement, “"I have grown up in a joint family so I understood that it's the biggest pillar of love, strength and support. That's the essence of our film, which has its heart in the right place. I'm having a blast even during the prep."
Arjun will next be seen as a Maratha warrior in Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical period drama Panipat, which stars Kriti Sanon as the female lead. The film’s trailer has just been released with Arjun receiving a mixed response for his portrayal of Sadashiv Rao Bhau. The film, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, will be releasing on 6th December 2019. Meanwhile, Rakul Preet will be seen alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria in Milap Milan Zaveri's Marjaavaan, which will hit the screens on 15th November 2019.
