Anushka Sharma Breaks Silence Over Comments Made on Her Regarding Indian Cricket Team

Anushka Sharma, the famous Bollywood actress married to the captain of Indian cricket team Virat Kohli, has slammed the comments made by the former Indian wicketkeeper Farokh Saleem against her. The 82-year-old ex-cricketer had accused the cricket team selectors of knowing nothing about their job and instead of getting tea for Anushka Sharma. Since the couple started dating, Anushka Sharma has often been criticized for Virat Kohli and the team’s performance. She has also been trolled on social media for being a strong influence on the Indian Cricket Team. Anushka Sharma has usually maintained silence over these issues but Farokh Engineer’s comments oozed her patience.
Anushka Sharma penned down a note silencing all her critics. She said that she had always maintained silence about false and fabricated news for 11 years of her career. According to Anushka Sharma, the lies against her had been repeated so often that these seemed to be true hence it was time for her to end all the rumors once for all. According to Anushka Sharma, she had been wrongly accused of influencing the team selection procedures and receiving preferential treatment from the board. Anushka Sharma said that she was blamed for overstaying with her husband when actually this was not the case as she had always followed the protocol.
Anushka Sharma clarified that she always paid for her own tickets. Speaking about a former controversy regarding group photo with the team, Anushka Sharma said that it was on the insistence of the High Commissioner's wife. She said that she had kept quiet on everything but the recent comment about her being presented tea by the selectors had made her speak up.
Anushka Sharma said that she had watched only one World Cup match and that too in the family box. She stated that the comments should be made on the team’s or the selectors’ qualification and her name should not be dragged to sensationalize the news. Anushka Sharma strongly remarked that she was a strong independent woman who just happened to be a cricketer’s wife. She ended the note with a sassy comment saying, '... and for the record, I drink coffee.'
