Everyone – especially music enthusiasts – was rather confused when Tulsi Kumar and Mika Singh joined hands to belt out the reworked version of super hit Bollywood original, Ankhiyon Se Goli Mare. There was a handful of listeners, however, who seemed to have some faith in the artists, having heard Kumar’s previous renditions of songs like Shehar ki Ladki, O Saki Saki and Dilbar. But as the duo released their remake on Wednesday, Twitter users went into a frenzy, with the song’s name trending on the micro-blogging site like no other. Many came out to criticise Kumar and Singh for allegedly ruining a blockbuster.
Unfortunately the recently released single has not sat well with social media users and some reactions including memes are priceless! “Shine on! @bhumipednekar for the launch of the song #AnkhiyonSeGoliMaare from #PatiPatniAurWoh,” wrote on user, accompanying the post with a picture of Bhumi wearing an oh-so-shocked reaction on her face. Another questioned when the trend of making remakes will end. “I wonder when the trend of recreating classic Bollywood songs will end! Music Albums of Gully Boy & Kabir Singh are clear examples of original singles connecting with the masses! I guess this recycling will never end!” penned the user, with the hashtag #StopRemakes even trending on Twitter.
Online portal The Quint had the same reaction too. Bollywood has gone too far by remixing #AnkhiyonSeGoliMare from Govinda-Raveena's 1998 film Dulhe Raja for #PatiPatniAurWoh say fans,” it wrote. “He is no less than a murderer. He has been remaking (ruining) old songs one after the another. Has no other talent. I wonder how he keeps getting work. Should be beaten in public for doing this. Fool #PatiPatniAurWoh@tanishkbagchi #AnkhiyonSeGoliMare,” added another user, while bashing music composer Tanish Bagchi.

The Ankhiyon Se Goli Mare original featured actors Govinda and Raveena Tandon in iconic dance moves for the 1998 film, Dulhe Raja. Speaking about the song and joining forces with Mika, Tulsi revealed it is a major nostalgic moment for her because she grew up listening to songs like Ankhiyon Se Goli Mare, which have so many childhood memories attached to them. "We have all grown up listening to these peppy numbers which just remind you of so many things and memories. I have grown up to the 90's music n getting an opportunity be a part of this iconic Govinda-Raveena Tandon number is a dream come true,” she said.
