Angelina Jolie Feels Strong Again After Divorce From Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie said that after finalizing her divorce with Brad Pitt, she felt stronger and wanted to embrace the role of Maleficent completely

Angelina Jolie is one of the biggest Hollywood stars right now. The actress started her career in 1995 with Hackers and has come a long way since then. Throughout the course of her career, she starred in numerous hit films such as Girl, Interrupted, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Alexander, Salt, Wanted and Mr. and Mrs. Smith amongst many others. It was during Mr. and Mrs. Smith that she met Brad Pitt and the two fell in love, only to get married in 2014. However, they then announced their divorce two years later in 2016. But it looks like Angelina has been taking it in very positive light.

Angelina confessed that after finalizing her divorce with Brad, she had a new found adoration for her character, Maleficent. She said, “I've been through different things in my life and I was so happy to feel strong again and to have some fun. And I adore being her and there's something about her that I'm now very proud that I'm associated. Maybe I just needed to fully embrace it at this time in my life. Years ago when we first did it, I was like, ‘She's a bit wild and full-on and a bit much and fun.’”

The actress stars in the leading role in the upcoming Maleficent: Mistress of Evil along with Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning, which is all set to hit screens on October 18 this year. The first film in the series was release in 2014. Angelina recalled when she landed the role of Maleficent. She shared, “I got a call and they said: 'We thought you were the only person who can play Maleficent. It's so obvious.’ And everybody else says, 'Well, it's so obvious'. You just think, 'I'm really not sure how I'm supposed to take that, and yet I love her!'”
