Ananya Pandey, Ishaan Katter's Khaali Peeli song Tehas Nehas falls flat despite sensual scenes

Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey are trying to move on from the travesty that was Beyonce Sharma Jayegi, with a new song release from their movie Khaali Peeli.
The new song - Tehas Nehas- which means destroyed or demolished, has all the makings of a good item number. The actors, are clad in matching clothes, Ishaan in a tank top and jeans with strategically placed grease and Ananya in a similar, white tank top tied up at her waist and blue shorts, show off their toned bodies in the song. At one point, they try to raise the sex-appeal of the video in a scene where they are completely drenched by sprinklers with dance moves that look very similar to Ed Sheeran's Shape of You music video.

Adaayein aisi, jisse niyat nahin sambhalti! Dil #TehasNehas karne, aa gaya hai yeh love wala song! Song out now (link in bio) Watch #KhaaliPeeli exclusively on @zeeplexofficial! The song has been filmed in a garage, and the choreography for Tehas Nehas was created by Rajitdev. While you cannot fault the youngsters dance moves from a technical sense, sadly, there's just something about the music video that fails to add that extra oompf.
When you think of iconic Bollywood songs filmed in the rain, you think of classics like Barso Re Megha, Tip Tip Barsa Paani, Bheegi Bheegi Raato Mein and even Pyar Hua Ikrar hua Hai. While there is undeniable chemistry between Ishaan Khattar and Ananya Pandey, the song just fails to entrall the audience. Is it the song itself? The tempo? Or the discord between the song and choereography, this can be chalked up as another fail when it comes to the movie's new soundtrack.
The song has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar once again and is sung by Shekhar Ravjiani and Prakriti Kakar.
The movie follows the story of "a street-smart guy, an item, a taxi and the story of one night," according to its official synopsis.
Ananya Pandey made her Bollywood debut with Student of the Year 2 in 2019, opposite Tiger Shroff while Ishaan Khattar made his debut in Beyond the Clouds but shot to fame in Dhadak opposite Jhanvi Kapoor.
The movie will be the first-ever Bollywood film to have on-demand streaming service release on 2nd October 2020 on Zee Plex.
