Bollywood filmmaker, Karan Johar recently hosted a party/get together for his close friends that mainly included celebrities from the Bollywood fraternity and other prominent figures from India. Much like all of his other parties the pictures and videos of the get together made their rounds on social media. However, the footage from this event managed to make the headlines for a series of different reasons. The video that was posted on Sunday went viral and it gained popularity when a prominent Indian politician indicated that the stars looked like they were in a drugged state in the video. Now, an open letter has been posted by an unverified Twitter account for Karan Johar. The account was made using the name ‘NotKangana’.
The open letter poses some pertinent questions to the filmmaker. The letter even goes as far as to state that India has transformed and that people no longer adore stars and celebrities obediently, the way they may have done in the past. The letter also indicates and points out that Karan had stimulated a controversy and almost ended a career of world class cricketer Hardik Pandya by making him answer controversial questions on his show, Koffee with Karan. The letter criticizes Karan Johar by stating that he surrounds himself with youth but fails to understand them. Here is a link to the entire letter:

On the 30th of July, a minister from the India political party Shiromani Akali Dal, Majinder Sirsa shared the video, calling it ‘Udta Bollywood’. Sharing the video from the bash, he wrote, “#UDTABollywood — Fiction Vs Reality. Watch how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunts their drugged state. I raise my voice against #DrugAbuse by these stars. RT if you too feel disgusted @shahidkapoor @deepikapadukone @arjunk2 @Varun_dvn @karanjohar @vickykaushal09”

While the actors who are blamed are yet to respond, Congress politician Milind Deora, whose wife was also in attendance, tweeted in support of the celebs and the get together.
My wife was also present that evening (and is in the video). Nobody was in a “drugged state” so stop spreading lies & defaming people you don’t know!— Milind Deora मिलिंद देवरा (@milinddeora) July 30, 2019
I hope you will show the courage to tender an unconditional apology https://t.co/Qv6FY3wNRk
Many, along with Milind Deora, have demanded an unconditional apology to the Bollywood stars for these accusations; Sirsa has refused to apologize and has also demanded that the celebs he has accused undergo a dope test to prove him wrong.
