Amitabh Bachchan's Chehre: Kriti Kharbanda Talks About Why She Had to Leave the Film
Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film Chehre is being directed by Rumi Jaffery. The mystery thriller will hit the screens in April 2020
Kriti Kharbanda -- who gained popularity with 2017 romantic drama Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana -- is no longer part of Chehre, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles. As per some earlier reports, Kriti had left the mystery thriller film due to her ‘tantrums’. However the actress has now rubbished these rumours and revealed that she could not be part of the project due to an issue with the dates. Kriti spoke about this while hosting a special screening for the media of her latest comedy film Pagalpanti.
Kriti said, “Unfortunately, I have left the film. We have mutually decided that I will no longer be a part of that film. Shooting of Chehre was supposed to begin in August-September but then it got pushed to October-November. I already had commitments with Housefull 4 and Pagalpanti so unfortunately, there was nothing that I could do to change my dates."
Anand Pandit Motion Pictures, the production house backing Chehre, also tweeted a clarification about this news, “In the light of recent media reports, we wish to clarify that @kriti_official and @apmpictures have mutually agreed to part ways on a cordial and professional note. We wish her success in all her future endeavours."
Kriti has been replaced by Krystal D'Souza, who received recognition playing Jeevika in Ek Hazaron Me Meri Behna Hai opposite Karan Tacker, and recently appeared in ALT Balaji’s Fittrat. Chehre, directed by Rumi Jaffery, will mark Krystal’s Bollywood debut. The film also stars Rhea Chakraborty and Siddhanth Kapoor in vital roles. In the film, Amitabh will be seen playing the role of a lawyer while Emraan will be portraying a business tycoon. The first shooting schedule for Chehre has already been completed and it is slated to hit the screens on 24th April 2020.
