Amitabh Bachchan tests negative in latest Coronavirus test
He has been discharged from Nanavati hospital
Amitabh Bachchan was discharged from Nanavati hospital yesterday, where he was being treated for the Coronavirus. Mr Bachchan, aged 77 was admitted to hospital alongside his son last month after announcing online that he had tested positive for the virus. He broke the news to his millions of fans on Twitter which caused international shockwaves from fans around the globe.
In a Tweet, Amitabh Bachchan thanked his friends and fans along with the Nanavati hospital for their service during his stay. He will now return home where he will go back into quarantine to stay safe.

His son, Abhishek Bhachchan was also diagnosed with the virus on the same day, which resulted in the rest of the family being tested. The news of these two high profile actors catching the virus came as a shock as they had been taking all the required precautionary measures. After both testing positive, the Bachchan became key figures in spreading awareness as they revealed their whole family had caught the virus.
Amitabh, Abhisheck and his wife Ashweria all used their social media platforms to encourage others in the country to stay at home and abide by the lockdown rules. Despite Amitabh making a full recovery, he has continued to spread awareness as he is so influential.
Yesterday Abhishek tweeted, ‘My father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest Covid-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital’.
Abhishek will remain in hospital as he is still being cared for after testing Covid-19 positive.

To announce his return home, Amitabh Bhachan posted an image of himself, hands joined as a symbol of thanks.
