On February 14th, 2019, a car laden with explosives was rammed into a CPRF convoy by a suicide bomber in Pulwama. Forty nine CPRF soldiers lost their lives and mainstream Bollywood celebrities took to social media to express their grief and concern over the tragedy.
Some Bollywood A-Listers did more than just tweet their grief and concern. Many of them banded together to help the soldiers’ families monetarily as well. Bollywood bigwigs such as Amitabh Bachchan pledged INR 5 Lac for each family that had lost a soldier in the attack.

Akshay Kumar donated Rs. 5 crores to Ministry of Home Affairs’ venture “Bharat Ke Veer” an initiative that gathers funds for the families of the servicemen. Other Bollywood celebs such as Kriti Sanon and Kailash Kher also tweeted the link to garner support from their audiences.

Reliance Foundation on Saturday said that it would be ready to assume the responsibility of education and employment of the children and the families of the victims who lost their lives in the Pulwama Attack. They had also offered their hospital services to provide treatment for the injured Jawans.
