Amitabh Bachchan made his debut in Indian cinema with Saat Hindustani, which was released on 7th November 1969. The Big B has thus completed 50 successful years in Bollywood today and on his goldeen jubilee in the industry, son, actor Abhishek Bachchan took to social media to post a throwback photo along with this heartfelt message on his father’s achievement, “Not just as a son, but as an actor and a fan... We are all blessed to witness greatness! There is so much to admire, to learn and even more to appreciate. Several generations of cinema lovers get to say we lived in the times of BACHCHAN!!! The monochrome throwback photo Abhishek shared is from Amitabh’s younger days when the actor was still trying to find his place in Bollywood. Fans of Big B immediately responded to Abhishek’s post, calling Amitabh a ‘legend’ and ‘inspiration’.
Amitabh became popular in the 1970s with films like Zanjeer, Deewaar and Sholay, and was called “angry young man” for his roles. He is also referred to as the Shahenshah of Bollywood and has won numerous accolades, including National Film Awards as Best Actor, Dadasaheb Phalke Award for lifetime achievement award and several others, including awards at international film festivals.

The 77 year old actor is still very active in the industry. He was seen on the silver screen in thriller film Badla this year, co-starring Taapsee Pannue. He also has several projects lined up, including mystery thriller film Chehre alongside Emraan Hashmi, comedy drama Gulabo Sitabo with Ayushmann Khurrana and superhero action drama Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor. He will also be starrig in Nagraj Manjule’s upcoming drama film Jhund.
