Along With The Film's Name, Here Are The Other Changes Demanded From Padmavat
Sanjay Leela Bhasali had to agree to a host of demands from the board
Padmavat didn’t only create news last year, but still continues to surprise fans through this year too. We recently learnt that the film finally got the clearance from the Censor Board and has been set to release on the 25th of January, 2018.
But, how many7 of you knew, that along with the change in name from Padmavati to Padmavat, the filmmaker was asked to incorporate some other changes too. The reason for the change in name was to disassociate the legendary name of Rani Padmavati from the title.
Some of the other changes included:
1) The inclusion of two disclaimers; (a) one clarifying that the filmmakers do not claim historical accuracy, and (b) a second that says the film does not endorse the practice of Sati and Jauhar.
2) The filmmakers were also asked to modify a song sequence featuring the Mewar queen, played by Deepika Padukone. Sources say that it is the Ghoomar song where footages of people (subjects) watching Deepika (the queen) dance for the Maharaja has been edited out.
Sources at the Censor Board has now confirmed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has agreed to all the changes that the censor board had suggested and hence the film has been cleared with an U/A certificate. However despite all of this, the film might not get released in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan immediately.
What are your thoughts about the changes that were asked to be made?
