This is truly the season for biopics, especially those based on iconic sportsmen! Much to our delight a new inspiring biopic was announced, with a star cast that seems to perfectly fit the bill.
Starring Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, and Bollywood sensation Taapsee Pannu, this sports biopic is based on the illustrious life of hockey player Sandeep Singh. The film that is all set to release on June 29, 2018, the film is helmed by Shaad Ali.

In Soorma, Diljit will be seen portraying two phases of the legendary hockey player’s life. One, the aggressive era, where he was ready to take on the opposing team and the other of him being in an wheelchair.
Diljeet is said to have undergone arduous training in the sport with Sandeep, and will be seen starring alongside Angad Bedi, who will portray the role of his elder brother, Bikramjeet Singh. The film will also mark Diljit’s first Hindi film as the lead actor. Talking about the film, the director Shaad said, “When I heard the story of Sandeep Singh I felt it is the best story I have ever heard. His journey is very inspiring and there is so much about his life that truly deserves a larger platform. I am so happy that we have a studio like Sony Pictures Networks Productions who have shown full faith in me to tell this story on the big screen.”
