Alia Bhatt is very supportive of her family and friends and in honour of World Mental Health Day she wrote a few words for her sister, Shaheen Bhatt
In a short span of time, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has already left a huge mark in the industry. Making her debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year back in 2012, the starlet has proved her mettle as an actress. Her acting in Highway, Udta Punjab and Raazi was lauded by many, putting her in the list of one of the finest performers of Bollywood. The actress has been very open about sharing a close bond with her family and often touched up on the subject of mental health as well.
In honour of World Mental Health Day, this time around, Alia has penned an emotional note for her sister, Shaheen Bhatt, and stressed on the importance of family and friend's support. She wrote, "I am so proud of you Shaheen and of Here Comes The Sun. You have taken something so personal and made it a symbol of strength and empathy. No one needs to be alone as they struggle with mental health, battling their own fears and anxiety. Sometimes all you need to know that you’re not alone! I’m here a 100% to start the conversation, to raise awareness and to join you on this journey, every step of the way." Shaheen has started an initiative to help support people who are struggling with mental illnesses. She too shared that it is an "effort to raise awareness about mental health, to start a conversation, and to help end the taboo and the stigma surrounding it".
