Alia Bhatt has had her hands full as of late and has been working on a number of projects simultaneously. She has been working on Brahamastra and has now also commenced work on Sadak 2. The film will also mark her father, Mahesh Bhatt’s return to direction in which she will star alongside Sanjay Dutt. Alia recently took to Instagram to make the announcement of her father being her director after not working on films for over a decade. Sadak 2 will be the sequel to 1991 movie Sadak which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt.

While there hasn’t been much word about the film and the details pertaining to the film have been kept under wraps, Alia final gave fans a sneak peek of the preparations for the film. The Highway actress took to her Instagram account and shared a glimpse of the preparations through her Instagram story. In her story, Alia shared a copy of the script of the film which has the main writers' names, Mahesh Bhatt and Suhrita, written on its cover. The picture of the script is accompanied with some emojis which go to show just how hard the actress has been working. The cover also states her name and the commencement date of her shoot in Ooty.

The Mahesh Bhatt directorial will be produced by Mukesh Bhatt under their banner Vishesh films and will be a special film for Alia as it is being directed by her father. The actress will be seen opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor who she has also shared screen space with in her previous film, Kalank.

 A source close to the film said, "It is a romantic number and comes at a crucial point in the film, so Bhatt sir is being meticulous about it. The final track will be recorded only after the unit returns from their Ooty schedule in August, While Jeet Ganguly's score is ready, the lyrics are still being worked upon. Jeet da wanted to understand Alia's pitch and voice modulation, so they decided to record the scratch. The lyrics will now be rewritten under the supervision of Mahesh Bhatt."
