Alia Bhatt Feels No Pressure To Look Perfect
Alia Bhatt says that she doesn't care too much about her appearance and focuses more on her work
Whether you call her a superstar or a diva, there’s nothing wrong in saying that Alia Bhatt is one of the best actresses in Bollywood of this generation. And even though her acting debut had very little to do with craft, she has proven – with each and every film – that she has the capability to do better. She’s now named amongst other star performers of Bollywood. And while her last film with Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt didn’t fare too well at the box office, she looked breathtaking.
But Alia is not one to care too much about how she looks. She said that she does not feel any pressure to have to look good all the time and it depends on her mood. She feels that she doesn’t have to be perfect around the clock. “It is overwhelming only if you let it become so. I don’t consider dressing up as overwhelming, as I do it as much for myself. In fact, I enjoy it,” said the starlet. “Some days, I don’t dress up as I don’t feel like it, and it is fine. It’s just a picture after all; it is not the end of the world.”
The 26-year-old added that what worries her more is the amount of effort she puts in her work. Alia explained, “I get overwhelmed only when my film is about to release as you are reminded of all the effort that went into making it. But it’s also funny how the minute the film releases, all the anxiety goes away. Then I just say, ‘Whatever has to happen, will happen’.” Alia’s statement comes at a time when a lot of women, both in the industry and out, feel like they need to constantly look flawless. Her comment is not only powerful and empowering, but also shows that she’s trying to go past all the stereotypes that have been set in Bollywood for the longest time.
In a matter of seven years, Alia has made a huge name for herself in the industry. Daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, the starlet made her acting debut in 2012 with Student of the Year opposite Varun and Sidharth Malhotra. She later starred in Highway along with Randeep Hooda for which she received a lot of appreciation. She continued to mesmerize crowds with her performance in 2 States and Udta Punjab. In 2012, she played the protagonist in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, once again acing her role. The film fared extremely well at the box office as well. She is currently filming Brahmastra with boyfriend and actor, Ranbir Kapoor, after which she will work with her father on Sadak 2.
