Akshay Kumar’s Next Offering Bachchan Pandey to Hit Floors in February 2020
Akshay Kumar has multiple projects lined up for the year. He is currently occupied with some remaining sequences of Sooryavanshi. He will collaborate with n Sajid Nadiadwala for the 10th time!
Akshay Kumar is still flying high following the impeccable run of his latest outing Mission Mangal at the box office. The star, however, still has a handful of projects lineup for release next year. While Housefull 4 is being touted as his next highly-anticipated offering, the Bollywood Khiladi has been in the news for another venture titled Bachchan Pandey. If recent reports are to be believed, the Farhad Samji directorial is all set to go on floors in February next year, after Akshay finishes all the projects he is currently occupied with, including some remaining sequences of Sooryavanshi. The film will supposedly be a big budget production.
“Before starting work on Bachchan Pandey, Akshay will wrap up a period film (probably Prithviraj) and minor chunks of his cop drama, Sooryavanshi. Like most of his films, this one too will be shot in a start-to finish schedule,” a source revealed, adding that the script will be improvised till the time of going on the floors. “The production team will go location-hunting after the release of Housefull 4, which is also directed by Farhad. It will be shot at real life locations in North and South India apart from sets in Mumbai.”
Akshay will supposedly be seen in a quirky avatar this time around. “It’s a massy character and has several one liners tailor-made for Akshay. A lot of time was also spent on designing his look.” Pandey will be the tenth collaboration between Sajid Nadiadwala and Akshay after successful projects like the Housefull franchise and Hey Babyy amongst others. The movie is slated for a Christmas 2020 release.
In an exclusive with Bollywood Hungama earlier, Sajid said, “We had this idea for a really long time. We were working on and off on it. When the right screenplay came to us, Akshay started reading the dialogues and we immediately knew that this character was very strong. We had to name the film after the character. We needed time since all the people involved had invested time in Housefull 4. So Farhad Samji also needed time.”
