Akshay Kumar in Uniform Steals the Show in Rustom Trailer
The film is bound to bring the famous Nanavati murder trial into the spotlight
The official trailer for Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom which released this (30 June) morning, has made the film buffs sit up and take notice of a dashing Akki, with his chest held out and flashing all the medals of a naval commander. It sure is very easy on the eyes, as we see this perfectly Punjabi munda transform himself into a meticulously disciplined Parsi.
The trailer lays out the basic points the film will cover — the dedicated service of Rustom Pavri (Akshay Kumar), a commander in the Indian Navy, his idyllic married life with his English-born wife (Ileana D’Cruz), the discovery of her affair with a family friend, Rustom’s subsequent shooting of the lover, and the court case that followed.
While it is loosely based on the real life story of Commander KM Nanavati and his shooting of his wife Sylvia’s lover Prem Ahuja, the trailer of Rustom shows that it explores several other angles as well — and this is where the film’s narrative promises something more to the average moviegoers.
