Akshay Kumar incurred an injury on the sets of Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi while shooting for the film in Mumbai. As per news reports, the actor sprained a muscle in his left arm and wore a black patch for relief. However, he continued to shoot for the film, which also stars Katrina Kaif. The Mumbai Mirror quoted a source, who shared details of the incident, “He sprained a muscle in the left arm. The physiotherapist taped the affected areas and Akki continued to shoot.” The source added that the filming of a song and a few days of shooting were left for the film, which will hit the screens in March 2020.
The action-packed film has been shot in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bangkok. It also includes cameo performances by Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn, who have previously worked with director Rohit Shetty in similar cop drama, Simmba and Singham, respectively.
Akshay recently appeared in his first music video, titled Filhall, which also features Kriti Sanon’s sister Nupur Sanon. The actor has been receiving a lot of appreciation for this video and surprised his fans with another video on Instagram, in which he can be seen performing a scene from the music video with Katrina Kaif. He wrote, “Been reading all your comments on the #FilhallTeaser and so many of you said it reminded you’ll of Namastey London. Coincidentally, I was shooting with our very own Jazz aka @katrinakaif today for #Sooryavanshi and we have a little surprise for you all.” Speaking about the song earlier to Hindustan Times, the actor said the melody had touched him in ‘unbelievable ways’. He further said, “I think the lyrics and the treatment are so beautifully put together that there was no way I was going to pass up on this opportunity. I didn’t want to be sitting in my van watching TV one day wishing I had been a part of something but thinking I was too established to be a part of it, never, that’s just not me.”
