Abhishek Bachchan tests negative for Coronavirus and leaves hospital
The star has been released from hospital, where he was being treated for the virus
Last month, 4 members of the Bachchan family were diagnosed with the Coronavirus and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her son Aaradhya Bachchan made a speedy recovery, whilst Amitabh took a few more weeks to test negative.
Abhishek was diagnosed on July 11, and was finally released on Saturday after spending days in hospital. Last week the star took to Instagram to share his frustration after sharing that he’d spent over 26 days in hospital. He wrote, “Hospital day: 26 Discharge plan: NO! Come on Bachchan, you can do it!! #believe”.
After testing negative for the virus, Abhishek took to Twitter to share the good news with fans. “A promise is a promise! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE!!! I told you guys I’d beat this. thank you all for your prayers for me and my family. My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati hospital for all that they have done. THANK YOU!”, he wrote.

The family were all treated at the Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, which offers private healthcare in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Both Amitabh and Abhiskek have thanked the staff for taking care of them.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan showed a fast recovery and were diagnosed and discharged within days of each other. It is unknown whether Abhishek will be joining his family at home or going into self isolation.
His father Amitabh tested negative for the virus earlier in the week and is now under mandatory quarantine in his residence in Jalsa.
