Aamir Khan recently announced that he would be remaking the Oscar winning classic Forrest Gump. He was speaking to the press on his birthday when the actor commented on various aspects, including Kangana Ranaut’s comment on him about ignoring her films.
“Is she upset with me?” Aamir asked. “Why? She never said that to me. When I’ll meet her next time I’ll ask,” said the Dangal actor.
Announcing his next film, Aamir said that he would be making a remake of Forrest Gump. The film would be called Lal Singh Chaddha.

1. Forrest Gump won multiple Academy Awards
Forrest Gump was nominated for the 67th Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematogaphy, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Original Score, Best Sound and Best Sound Editing. However it won for Best Actor, Best Director, Film Editing, Best Picture, Best Visual Effects and Best Writing for an Adapted Screenplay.
2. The film itself is an adaptation from the book
It is the adaptation of a novel of the same name by Winston Groom. Groom was paid 350000 USD for his screenplay rights.
3. Tom Hanks played the titular character
Tom Hanks gave a performance of a lifetime and won the Academy Award for the Best Actor
4. A sequel was shelved
Eric Roth had drafted a sequel for it but the project was shelved and never saw the light of day.
5. It was a ‘conservative’ film
Critics have said that the film is a film that ‘idealizes the 1950s’. It was also known as the Best 100 Conservative Movies of the Last 25 years in 2009.
