Aamir Khan turned 54 and at his birthday press conference the actor addressed Kangana Ranaut’s complaint.
Kangana Ranaut had said that she went all the way to Ambani's house for screening of Dangal and Secret Superstar but Amir did not come to attend any of her movie trials.
She said, "When Aamir called me for Dangal, Secret Superstar, I went all the way to Ambani's house. Dangal, for me, was a film about women empowerment. But they don't have time for any of my trails. I have two-three films coming up, but I don't expect people to write about them."
Aamir addressing the comment said, “Oh she was upset with me? Why? Aisa mujhe toh kabhi unhone bola nahi. Mai miluga toh poochuga.”
Kangana had lashed out at many people in the industry, including Alia Bhatt whom she called Karan Johar’s puppet. She also encouraged the press to question Ranbir Kapoor for his apolitical stance. Post the Pulwama attack she had also called into question Shabana Azmi and her commitment to go to Pakistan for a function that celebrated Kaifi Azmi’s, Shabana’s father, legacy. Shabana had not gone to Karachi eventually but had responded to Kangana with, “May God bless her.” Alia Bhatt had responded in a similar fashion when she said that she admired Kangana. However, Alia said that she would like to keep her opinions to herself.
It was today that Aamir has announced his next film Lal Singh Chaddha, which is an official adaptation of Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump.
Aamir Khan turns 54 today and his last release, Thugs of Hindostan failed commercially and critically.
