If there was one movie that made waves in Bollywood in 2017, it was Lipstick Under My Burkha. Directed by Alankrita Srivastava, the movie had many reviewers praised it, calling it a brave film that talks about taboos and hidden desires of Indian women, especially in small towns. Starring Konkana Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Brothakur, the film is about four small town Indian women - A burkha clad college girl, a young beautician, a mother of three and an aging widow - who decide to assert their personal rights.
Recently, in an interview to Zoom Tv, actress Aahana Kumra revealed that while she was shooting for the film, producer Prakash Jha had passed a comment that made the actress feel uncomfortable.
She said, “I remember once Mr Jha walked in and there was a scene, where I am filming the sex that is happening. Then Mr Jha walked in on the set and he passed a remark and it was so uncomfortable to hear that from him. I just went to Alankrita (the director) and said 'he is not my director why he is on the set and why I have to hear a remark from him, with all due respect he is a producer."
