In one of the most weird fan behaviours in Bollywood, a south Mumbai Malabar Hill resident has left her belongings to Sanjay Dutt. The fan has made a registered will and transferred her belongings through her lawyer. She has been suffering from a terminal disease for the past six months and recently passed away.
Malabar Hill resident Nishi Tripathi willed the money from her bank account and her back locker to Sanjay Dutt. She nominated 'Film star Sanjay Dutt' on her bank documents and gave Dutt's Pali Hill home address as the one for the nominee. Bank officers and Tripathi family's lawyer revealed the details after the prayer meet for Nishi's demise. She passed away on January 15 after losing the battle with terminal illness. Tripathi's love for Sanjay Dutt was known to the family but the extent of it came to light only after her will was read. Tripathi, a homemaker, is survived by 80-year-old mother and three siblings.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Dutt has refused to take even a penny from whatever was willed to him. The move made by this fan has reportedly shocked the star. "As actors, we are used to fans naming their children after us, chasing us down the street and even giving us gifts. But this has shocked me. I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nishi and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it," said the Munnabhai star. Bank officers and Tripathi family's lawyer revealed the details after the prayer meet for Nishi's demise. His lawyer Subhash Jadhav said that Dutt wants nothing to do with it all and it should be rightfully handed to her family.
Dutt has also offered to help the family with any and all necessary paperwork to make the transition. “We have communicated that Sanjay Dutt will be seeking no claim on the belongings and will adhere to any legal proceedings necessary to transfer the valuables back to the family,” Dutt’s attorney Jadhav told Mumbai Mirror.
