A Heartfelt Tribute To Coffee On The World Coffee Day
Coffee is one of the most widely loved drinks in the world and marks the morning for many people. World Coffee Day is celebrated on October 1st every year by coffee enthusiasts.
Coffee makes the world go round. Or maybe, coffee makes the world walk straight without having to bump into every second person in sight. At least, it is true in my case. Coffee is the magic drug that has the ability to mark the morning even more than the sun. Like love, coffee also comes in all forms and faces. Be it long flack, flat white, hot, or cold, coffee is for all which does not discriminate. It showers its love on everyone who is willing to bear its bitterness and evoke all the senses available to mankind.
Today is World Coffee Day. These days there are so many days for literally everything under the sun that it is almost impossible to remember which day is dedicated to which shade of blue. But coffee’s international day is as important as my own birthday hence there was no point in forgetting it. Starting from a cup of hot drink, coffee has definitely traveled a long way. It is a part of desserts and cakes as much as hot and cold beverages. Like red lipstick, there is a flavor and type of coffee for all. Although now coffee comes with various flavors now, nothing beats the classic coffee freshly brewed from the coffee beans and not stirred as a sachet.
A hot steaming cup of black coffee in the morning often makes me wonder that many movies and books have been written on various topics. Love is one of the most widely used topics in the world for literature. It makes me wonder why no one ever bothered to write a love story about coffee. Some people can function without it but those who cannot will probably not imagine their life without it. On this World Coffee Day, I pledge to dedicate my first short story to the froth. I also pledge my first short story to be a love story which will be based on my love affair with this bittersweet concoction.
