Extra sweet, extra milk, no sugar, light or strong ... whatever it may be, if you have lived in Dubai long enough, you know ‘chai’ is a booming part of the Indian/Middle Eastern culture. A steaming cup of chai is one of the most popular choices for a low-key outing and is the perfect elixir for a seamless start and end to the day. Here is a list of some of my favourite tea places in Dubai.
This is one of the most popular late night hang out spot which is always buzzing with twenty-something youngsters. My favourite here is a cup of Karak chai with a dash of ginger, it isn’t stridently flavoured and works perfectly with their famous Oman chips cheese paratha roll.
FILLI CAFE, DHS6
Another hot favourite that is popular for its Karak zafraan chai. The extra saffron added in it makes it even more aromatic and tasty. To the good luck of all you insomniacs, you can devour your Fili tea, sip by sip until 2 AM.
RAJU OMELET, DHS3.50 FOR CUTTING CHAI AND DHS4 FOR KADAK CHAI
Aside from its cosy interiors and lip-smacking egg dishes, they do a great job with their ginger cutting chai, that is slowly cooked and is served in the perfect quantity to invigorate your senses.
TEA JUNCTION, DHS10
A variety of extensive tea blends, Tea Junction’s passion for tea has also been instilled in the exterior of the café which looks like a tea-pot when looked at from any angle. The homely like vibe, the music and the cosy sofas are simply perfect for unwinding over a great conversation and a hot cuppa.
CHA CHA CHAI, DHS5
Let your senses tingle with all the aromatic flavours of tea along with smooth bubbly, offered in many flavors, as you settle down in a cozy spot and enjoy your favorite live sports match. Don’t forget to order the paneer tikka sandwich which is absolutely delicious!
AL HARA CAFETERIA, DHS2
The Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan combination of samosa and chai can never go wrong and is indeed one of the best ways to unwind. Their disco chai is a favourite and the ample parking spaces available, allow you to immerse in a good long conversation with your friends.
KARAK HOUSE, DHS10
If a restaurant names itself after the staple cuppa, then it's got to be delish! This place serves up never-heard-before Karak combinations, like pistachio karak, rose karak, caramel karak, and saffron karak, making it a must visit spot!
