Pushing fashion frontiers year by year, Fashion Forward Dubai is back with its 9th edition and has so much more to offer this time around! Continuing its trend of unique talent collaborations every year, FFWD has joined hands with 6Degree. The Indian based fashion talent and technology platform is known to provide a stage for emerging designers, launching them into the international fashion sphere.

The 6Degree CEO and co-founder, Nikhil Hegde spoke about his collaboration with FFWD saying, “Indian fashion has already been going global, be it in Paris, New York, Milan or London. With Dubai becoming a one-stop-shop for global fashion executives as well as an important platform for global product launches and marketing events, being a part of Fashion Forward Dubai, is the perfect launch pad for our budding design talent.’’

The talent networking platform, after a strenuous round of auditions, has selected two designers, along with co-founder Nikhil Hegde who will also be showcasing at FFWD 2017. The talented designers selected include Amrapali Singh and Vedika Merh.

Amrapali Singh

Known for her brand Birdwalk, Amrapali Singh will display a femininely elegant collection drawing inspiration from art, nature and dance. The brand is an amalgamation of flowy silhouettes and earthy hues combined with hand paintings and intricate embroidery detailing. No matter what is in trend, high-end sophisticated and elegant couture will never fail to impress. Faithfully sticking to the monochrome palate, this brand is soaring high, keep an eye out for them at this year’s FFWD!

Vedika Merh

The designer brings to FFWD a collection filled with quirky designs and vibrant hues, redefining fun prêt couture. The garments take inspiration from colour and mixes it with whimsical prints along with hand painted and block printed textile. Whether you have a liking for dresses or scarves, there will be something from the line for everyone to take back. The talented designer is also known to dress Bollywood divas like Urvashi Rautela and Soha Ali Khan. Expect to see the designer’s innovative choice of silhouettes flashed on the ramp and make sure to catch hold of what you love since there will be only a few limited pieces on the shelves.
