It’s no secret that India, with its vibrant culture, striking colours and fascinating tradition have proved to be a constant source of inspiration for designers around the world. This AW, Level Shoes has taken it to a whole new level (pun unintended) of exotica through its ‘Dear India’ campaign.
Essentially, this season is all about an exclusive India-inspired collection, curated talks by special guests (with the finale being an appearance by Christian Louboutin himself on Diwali day), and a jaw-dropping store transformation. With replicas of desi architectural wonders, marigold decorations, puppet shows and murals depicting shades of Indian life, the store dons a whole new look.
The most exciting aspect is the capsule collection in line with AW 17 trends where 16 designers created opulent India-inspired pieces. Each of these designs have shades of quintessential Indian elements like elaborate weddings, alluring landscapes, mythology etc. Additionally, four celebrated Indian designers collaborated with international footwear brands to create styles that aptly reflected the ‘East meets the rest of the world’ ethos.
Thus you have couturier Gaurav Gupta creating a one-of-a-kind style along with French luxury shoe brand Chloe Gosselin. Dubai’s very own Maha Abdul Rasheed of Bambah joined hands with Fizzy Goblet, a footwear brand by Laksheeta Govil to create a collection of juttis with a twist. The exclusive women’s collections include styles by Alberta Ferretti, Aquazzura, Laurence Dacade, Malone Souliers and Tods, among others. Take a look and get wowed:
