Trust B-town to constantly come with interesting news to entertain you. Remember the heart-warming letter Deepika’s father, Prakash Padukone wrote to his daughter? The one that was read out loud in Deepika’s winning speech at the Filmfare awards, when she won for her performance in Piku?
Well, what was supposed to be a sweet gesture from a father for his daughter, has now turned out to be a national topic of discussion. How you ask?
The emotional letter is now shockingly part of Indian textbooks. Yes, you heard that right! Not just the letter, but there’s also a whole multiple choice questionnaire that follows it, and we honestly wonder why! If you missed it earlier, here is Deepika reading the letter out loud on the award night:
An ardent Padukone fan also took to Twitter, to post images of the letter being published in the English Language text book. Take a look:
Is it just us, or is Bollywood going too far, proclaiming emotions that are supposed to be kept private, on public platforms? Why did Karan Johar have to publish his heart-warming letter to his twins for the world to see? Why did Deepika have to read a personal letter written by her father out loud for the world to listen to? And that’s not it..Why did Amitabh Bachchan pen down an emotional letter to his granddaughter Navya, just before the release of Pink?
Are these merely done to attract publicity? We can't see another reason, can you?
