Much to the delight of Salman Khan fans around the world and especially in Dubai, the superstar unveiled the first song, Radio from the film Tubelight last evening (Tuesday May 16). Sung by Kamaal Khan (who was known as Salman's voice after he crooned Oh Oh Jaane Jaana) and choreographed by Remo Dsouza, the song is nothing less than a fun filled musical dhamaka. It has been written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Pritam.
The launch that took place at Arabian Centre, saw a crowd of around 20,000 fans who gathered to get a glimpse of their superstar as they got a chance to listen to this first song from his much awaited Eid release. At the launch, Salman took to the mic and along with Sohail Khan sung a few lines from the song. Take a look!
The official music video shows a very happy Salman dancing and celebrating and upon being asked about why the song is called Radio, director Kabir Khan explained, ‘’It's a celebratory song at the end of a war. It's set in 1962 when radio was essentially the only medium through which news could be obtained. Everything from entertainment to news, came through radio. But it was a big song. Remo had done a very nice number Selfie le le in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. We needed same kind of scale, energy and fun. The set was designed over 300 acres and we had 700-800 dancers and 1000 extras." Wow that really is something!
On being questioned about the reason he chose Dubai for the launch, Salman Khan explained it was because he was already in town shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai, so it was a logistically apt option. Members of the team who were present included, Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Kabir Khan and Kamaal Khan. And guess what! Tubelight is also the first ever film to have its own twitter emoji! The emojio appears when users tweet #TubelightKiEid and this is what it looks like:
