US Laptop Ban Lifted on all Emirates Flights

Following the laptop ban being lifted for all Etihad Airways flights, it has now been lifted for Emirates Airline flights too, with immediate effect.

Commenting on the development, a spokesperson said, “Emirates has been working hard in coordination with various aviation stakeholders and the local authorities to implement heightened security measures and protocols that meet the requirements of the US Department of Homeland Security’s new security guidelines for all US bound flights.”

Passengers will now be allowed to carry electronic devices such as, tablets, laptops and cameras in their cabin luggage, for flights flying to the US.

“The measures taken included, enhanced screening of electronic devices, more thorough vetting of passengers, increased use of bomb-sniffing dogs and measures to mitigate the potential threat posed by insider attacks,” said Homeland Security Secretary, John Kelly.
