Inspired by 50s Hollywood and childhood nostalgia, the gingham print has never really been out-of-style. Season after season, designers find new inventive ways to bring back the beloved trend, and this spring, the key is to deconstruct traditional silhouettes to create fun and exciting new structures. Think, printed heels and ballet flats like Miu Miu which check ribbons, or cropped hems, and plenty of asymmetry.
1. Steer away from monochrome this season and opt for rainbow hues in gingham to spice up your look. Think reds, greens and bright yellows.
2. The trend extends to all accessories including jewellery and handbags.
3. Use a neutral buffer such as a white tee or leggings to balance the outfit; or if you're feeling bold then go all out with head-to-toe checks with bright red Bardot-like lipstick!
