We have always seen Hindi films take inspiration from South films. More often than not, many hindi films are remakes of films from the South.
However, Salman Khan has made a change in that trend by forcing a Malayalam film that was based on the same theme as 'Tiger Zinda Hai', out of the market. According to a report, Tiger Zinda Hai is based on the same premise as that of the 2017 Malayalam film 'Take Off', which the filmmakers wanted to remake in Hindi. Leading airline company Jet Airways was expected to back the project financially and mark their debut into the showbiz industry.
However the Malayalam film is being withdrawn from the market now because now the films are based on the same story apparently -- Both the films revolve around a group of nurses hailing from Kerala who had been held in captivity during the ISIS siege of Tikrit, in 2014. The city also happened to be the hometown of the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
The Malayalam film Take Off was announced with Parvathy Menon, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil in leading roles. The film is written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan and produced by Anto Joseph and Shebin Backer.
