In most recent news, B-town actor, Ranveer Singh is said to be visiting a psychiatric specialist at a reputed Mumbai hospital. He has already completed three sessions and sources say that he has been put on anti-depressants already.
"All this is happening because of his rigorous preparations for the role of Alauddin Khilji, since he technically lived that persona because he wanted to bring alive the person on screen. He has invoked all the dark demons from his heart to bring that character alive. Now he is taking professional help to relieve him of the same demons that he had invoked from the dark corners of his heart," said a friend of the star.
Ranveer is a method actor and he had gone through the same process before shooting for the performance as Maratha warrior in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s previous film Bajirao Mastani. He is known to adopt an unconventional way of preparation, by putting himself into the same emotion as his character is going through in the film.
In the upcoming period drama Padmavati, the actor is playing a menacing, cruel anti-hero Alauddin Khilji. To effectively represent all the nuances of this complex character, Ranveer is been putting lot of efforts. “Getting out of this dark, intimidating mind-set wasn’t easy for him. The film has also been shot for almost a year now, so sustaining the Khilji persona was very challenging. It affected his reactions and behaviour towards people. Which is why his friends advised him to get help in emerging beyond Khilji. He is going to a psychiatrist to get rid of the Khilji influences,” said a source close to the actor to another media house.
Wow! That’s some preparation for the role! We can only imagine how difficult it must have been for the actor.
Padmavati is all set to release on 30th November (2017), and we can’t wait to see Ranveer, Shahid and Deepika in action.
