In a shocking move, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai have sent a demolition squad at the office of Anil Kapoor and broken down parts of it. At least three of the cabins inside the premises were razed to the ground as they were unauthorised.
"The BMC demolished unauthorized glass-and- wood cabins and cubicles built inside veteran actor Anil Kapoor's 2,500-square-foot office in Santacruz West last week. In all, the BMC's H-West Ward staff razed unauthorized interior work allegedly carried out at four premises in Savoy Chambers, including the actor's office, on Friday. The six-storey commercial building is situated on Dattatray Road in Hasmukh Nagar, Santacruz," said a source.
The BMC has allegedly sent three notices to Anil Kapoor which he failed to respond and hence the demolition squad was sent. The office had been used for Sonam Kapoor too on a lot of occasions, though officially it was not in her name. Anil Kapoor hasn't released a statement to this effect but friends close to him said that he is unlikely to release a statement and will accept the move the BMC and pay its costs in due course.
Rules are rules after all!
