Madhur Bhandarkar has finally clarified that he is not working on a remake of the hit 1990 romantic film 'Aashiqui'. What's keeping the director busy is the sequel to 'Fashion', which might get underway in 2012.
Meanwhile, work on his most ambitious project, 'Heroine', starts November-end, 2011.
"Let me clarify, I am not making 'Aashiqui' remake. 'Fashion 2' is under consideration for 2012 end but nothing has been finalised yet!" Madhur posted on his Twitter page.
"'Heroine' principal photography to commence from end Nov!" he added.
There has been a spate of speculation over Madhur's upcoming projects.
In September, it was reported that he had been asked by T-Series head Bhushan Kumar to remake the superhit that starred Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. The other rumours were about Madhur's 'Fashion 2', for which he is believed to have approached Madhuri Dixit, who is back from the US to Mumbai for good.
But for now, the filmmaker is looking forward to working with Kareena Kapoor on 'Heroine'. The project was supposed to star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but she was replaced after she announced her pregnancy.
