With all the expensive beauty treatments out there you'd think that fresh and youthful skin is reserved only for the rich and famous. But stay out of the sun and be consistent about taking care of yourself and you'll reap the benefits for decades into the future says expert and founder of Tanamera beauty brand Faridah Ahmad Fadzil.
Your hands tell a lot
It's a common perception that the lines on your face will give away your age but the truth is, your hands play the real culprit. Due prolonged unprotected exposure to the sun's UV rays the skin becomes wrinkly and forms dark-age spots. To keep the skin looking young, all you need is a generous amount of sunscreen 30 minutes before you go outdoors.
Keep your teeth healthy and beautiful
As tired as you could be, you have to make sure you brush and floss your teeth before going to bed. A proper dental routine will keep you safe from gum diseases, and mouth odor. For starters, make sure you brush your teeth and floss between your teeth twice a day. Then, to prevent plaque buildup, rinse your mouth with a fluoride mouthwash. Consult your dentist about getting your teeth professionally cleaned.
Sparkling eyes are ageless eyes
Apply a good eye cream around your eyes every morning and night and avoid under-eye bags. At the same time, make sure you get enough sleep, drink lots of water and reduce your salt intake to reduce water retention. Placing cotton balls soaked in milk, cold spoons, wet tea bags and slices of potato or cucumber under your eyes for about 10 minutes will help you get rid of dark circles and puffiness. It's a cooling, calming routine and you should see results in two weeks if you do it every day. Application of almond oil to dark under-eye circles just before going to bed helps a great deal.
Your skin repairs itself and generates new cells when you sleep, so sleep well for a fresh youthful skin.
