What’s making Kareena Kapoor-Khan sit up these days? It’s books! She has the grace to admit that she never had a chance to further her education since she opted for films at 20. Now, in an eager beaver manner she says, “I’ve started believing that it’s good to know about what’s happening around you, apart from films.”
So apart from her endorsing women’s safety, she now wants to support the cause of literacy. And she’s not too proud to admit that she has actually started reading books thanks to hubby Saif. She says, “He has so much information. He’s in his forties and reads so much.”
Bebo says she let films get the better of her since she watched big sis Karisma before her and “was in a rush to be an actress.”
But now, under Saif’s steady influence, Bebo says she’d like to help in some way to eradicate illiteracy in India. She says, “I realise that education and a basic grounding are important. So hopefully, in 2014, I would like to do something about this and it’s a cause I strongly believe in.”
Well, more power to you Bebo – at least there is no pretention here!
