Abhinav Kashyap, the director of 'Dabangg' and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's brother is learning the tricks of Bollywood trade the other way round. He seems more adept at creating controversies than making films! He has fought with practically everyone associated with 'Dabangg', thereby eliminating himself from the film's success parties. But his next venture 'Besharam' has reached a roadblock even before the movie goes on the floors! Viacom 18, which was initially supposed to produce the film, has now pulled out because Kashyap refused to tweak his script. Ranbir Kapoor was signed as the lead actor for the film but this recent turn of events has put the actor in a fix as well.
Viacom 18's main gripe with Kashyap was that the director was not willing to make changes to the script, to make it more commercial. 'Besharam' is apparently a brash film and that is how Abhinav wants to keep it. Viacom's main concern was to draw the audience into the theatres and commercial films do attract more crowds and money! But Abhinav would rather have quality over quantity and his obstinacy pushed Viacom over the threshold.
Kashyap has now taken his project to Reliance Films but nothing is confirmed yet. Ranbir may have signed on the dotted line but he has many other films he's committed to. Whether the actor will see this film through is a big question mark. As of today, it has no production support.
