Guess Which Cricketer Beat Other Bollywood Stars in the First Ever ‘Instagram Awards’ in India?

Instagram on Monday announced its first 'Instagram Awards in India' and surprisingly, through the results, we found out that a cricketer has triumphed over Bollywood in the race. Of course the cricketer has a secret Bollywood superpower behind him.

We’re talking about, Indian Cricket captain Virat Kohli (@virat.kohli), who took the top honours as the "most engaged account on Instagram" as of March 2018. Kohli has 19.8 million followers and the number is lower than some other Indian celebrities, but he scored in engagement because his followers are the most active on Instagram, in terms of commenting, liking and sharing posts related to Virat. Deepika Padukone (@deepikapadukone) bagged the 'most followed account on Instagram' prize with 22.4 million followers, followed by Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra (@priyankachopra), who was next with 22 million followers. Fourth place went to Alia Bhatt (@aliaabhatt) with 20.8 million followers.

In recognition of building a community of 20 million followers, Instagram presented Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor (@shraddhakapoor) with a milestone plaque. Ishaan Khatter (@ishaan95) was dubbed as India's “emerging account” for growing his fan base significantly throughout 2017. Interesting to note that Ishaan is not on any other social media account other than Instagram.

Instagram saw some major celebrity moments last year and the biggest highlight was Virat Kohli’s wedding announcement to Bollywood star Anushka Sharma.

Who is the Bollywood star you love following the most on Instagram?
