MY IDEA OF A PERFECT V-DAY
Valentine's Day is about celebrating love in all shapes and forms. Many may argue it’s yet another bit of commercial fluff on the calendar, but nothing harmful in getting an excuse to celebrate I say! I like to give little gifts of appreciation to my close friends, do a bit of glittery heart-filled arts and crafts with my little one, and end the night with a scrumptious meal with my foodie Hubster.
3 MUST-VISIT RESTAURANTS
Folly by Nick & Scott
Founded in 2011 by Gordon Ramsay’s protégés Nick Alvis & Scott Price, Folly is all things fine-dining with a view to kill. With the breezy, balmy weather we are enjoying right now, book a candlelit table for two on their open terrace with gorgeous views of Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
I recommend: Their signature Crispy Hen’s Egg served with morels and sherry caramel.
It’s Valentine’s Day. Why not head away from the hustle bustle of the city and enjoy a long drive together to Ajman? Nestled in Al Zorah Creek, this stylish dining venue offers breathtaking views of one of the region’s most scenic, naturally occurring mangroves. Time your booking to watch the sun set, and you might even spot a flamingo or two. The menu is predominantly European, and includes a smorgasbord of delectable grills.
I recommend: Slow braised Wagyu beef cheeks in a tarragon sauce.
Thai food by far, is my favorite cuisine and one of the most memorable Thai meals I’ve had in the UAE as been in Tong Thai, JW Marriott Marquis. Tong Thai boasts of authentic Thai flavors that will have you coming back for more. But apart from the fabulous food, the ambiance here is absolutely spectacular, making it ideal for a special date-night.
I recommend: Tom Yum soup and creamy Green Curry
