With fabulous sunshine and breathtaking scenery, Salerno is located in southern Italy near the famous Amalfi coast and it boasts of exquisite food and a rich history. Elena and John’s beyond beautiful Italian wedding, organised by Quintessentially Weddings, was filled with vintage details and astounding entertainment.
A secluded spot hugging the edge of a dramatic hillside, Villa Cimbrone is little known - ensuring privacy. The gardens are what really sets it apart, with tapering Cyprus trees, lemon groves and magnolia bushes creating an evocative scent.
The Décor & Entertainment
Food was served on eclectic porcelain and pearls were strung amongst flower arrangements of pink, lavender and white giving the venue a woodland nymph feel. A trio of Tenors, a string quartet, a top-secret pop star and a band of musicians who toured with the likes of The Rolling Stones and Beyoncé ensured the guests were entertained throughout the wedding fuctions.
Elena and John opted for the traditional local wedding cake, Crostata di Frutta.
A group of local musicians lead the guests to the wedding ceremony playing Italian folk love songs.
Always opt for the local option when it comes to food and flowers; importing these elements can be risky and expensive while the native options are often far prettier and more delicious.

The picturesque Côte D’Azur, often called the French Riviera, has perpetual sunshine and pristine private beaches. It’s no wonder that it is a popular location for destination weddings. Quintessentially Weddings, the wedding planners, share details of Teresa and Tomas’ wedding held in Cote D’Azur, that was all about ‘relaxed glamour’.
The majority of the nuptials took place at Cap Estel, set on the breathtaking Ezé-bord-de-Mer near Cannes, known for its secluded location and sophisticated style.
The Décor and Entertainment
With polished white lacquer and leather furnishings, graphic printed floors and contemporary accents, much of the bespoke wedding design was created around the hotel’s innate style of clean lines and glossy finishing touches. Seasonal flowers like lilies and narcissus were styled by local florists, Les Fleuristes, in clear glass bottles and vases.
For the entertainment, there were photo-booths and music sets from international DJs who play the likes of Café del Mar.
A tower of chic cupcakes topped with an elegant Peggy Porschen celebration cake added a traditional touch.
A phalanx of yachts were booked to take guests for short trips to the quaint, nearby towns.
Provide welcome kits consisting of sun lotion, sunglasses, fans and cooling facial mists in a personalised tote bag. Even better, place the sunglasses in a customised case so whenever they wear them, they think of your special day.
