Restaurant of the week: Carnival by Tresind

Carnival by Tresind located in the business hub of DIFC has picked up many accolades and awards in less than a year and has very recently launched their Season 2 menu after the immense success of their Season 1. Season 2 menu is inspired by suburban Indian cuisine and showcases a selection of popular Indian dishes from urban centres of India. The new menu features around 30 brand new dishes along with the star highlights of the previous menu. Some of my favourites among the new dishes are  Jhinga La La, Pink Pani Puri, Pind Da Khaana to name a few.

It's an absolute treat for both, vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Also the posh, upscale and very Instagram worthy interiors of Carnival By Tresind can be the perfect place to take your better half out.

Their lunch menu starts at Dhs89 ++ with a chef tasting vegetarian menu priced at Dhs 325++, non-vegetarian at Dhs 350 ++ and of course you can choose from the a la carte options if the set menu doesn't work for you.

MY RECIPE…

Stuffed Cheese Mushrooms

Have guests coming over? Need to make this quick fix.

1.      Wash and de-stem mushrooms.

2.      Mix parmesan and kraft cheese together.

3.      Stuff cheese in mushrooms and add garlic paste, chilli flakes, black pepper

4.      Add a pinch of bread crumbs on top and brush top of each mushroom with butter.

5.      Bake on 450 degrees for 15 minutes.

Personality of the week

VINAY VARMA AND NIRA VARMA

Among the many inspiring stories I've come across, this one is very close to me as it involves some of my favourite restaurants by my favourite restaurateurs’ in the Capital.

In 1985, Mr. Vinay Varma, along with his wife Nira started Kwality Restaurant followed by Kwality Mithai and Chappan Bhog (Abu Dhabi) the one and only go-to Indian chaat and sweet shop back in the day. It’s their vision that has made them the founders of the Royal Catering Group that also offers Indian fine dine at Avasa, delicious Thai food at Royal Orchid and of course scrumptious, kababs and kurries!

Competitively priced – the food offered at their restaurants is a treat for your taste buds and I consider it money well spent!

FOOD FACT

Did you know people could have a Cheese Phobia? Turophobia is the fear of cheese. People fear cheese often because of their gooey appearance and taste. Pizza's are a definite NO-NO for them!
